01 · System status
System status: every OpenVPT component, checked live.
This page asks the API for its current status every 30 seconds (paused while the tab is in the background). Everything shown is what that check returned; no number here is written in advance.

What each line means
- API
- The backend the website and apps talk to: sign-in, listings, orders, chat and notifications all go through it. When it is unreachable, most of the site stops working.
- Database
- The PostgreSQL database with accounts, listings, order records and messages. When it is down, the API cannot read or write any data.
- Redis
- Caching, rate limits, real-time message delivery and background job queues. When it is down, live notifications and some background work are delayed.
- Blockchain
- The blockchain node the API uses to read the escrow contract and the latest block. The block height shown is the chain head the API last saw.
- Indexer
- The service that watches escrow contract events (funding, settlement, refunds) and updates orders. When it lags, a payment already confirmed on-chain can take longer to appear on the order.
- Operational
- The component answers normally with no known problem.
- Degraded
- The component works, but not fully: for example the indexer is behind, or a component could not be checked.
- Down
- The component did not answer or timed out (for the indexer: stalled, with no progress for over 5 minutes); the features that depend on it are unavailable for now.
- Unknown
- There is no data for this component, for example because the API is unreachable or no blockchain is configured. Unknown is never shown as operational.
This page shows the state of the platform's services. During an outage, escrowed funds stay in the on-chain contract, and no single party (the platform included) can move them alone.
